▶ When does registration open and how do I register?

Registration opens March 1st and is online only through our Registration page. Follow us on social media for updates and reminders.

▶ When does registration close?

Registration remains open until teams are full or the end of June, whichever comes first. Teams fill quickly, so early registration is encouraged.

▶ How much is registration?

• Football: $380
• Cheer: $350

▶ Are payment plans or discounts available?

Yes.

• Sibling Discount: $20 per sibling (must be a sibling)
• Payment Plans: Available at checkout if you register before April 1st

▶ Where do my registration fees and sponsorships go?

The Clovis Sharks is a volunteer-run nonprofit funded by registrations, donations, and fundraisers. Annual program costs average $45,000–$50,000.

Registration fees help cover:

• Football & cheer uniforms (players keep them)
• Helmets, pads, and practice equipment
• League insurance and coach background checks
• Facility use and custodial services
• Game officials and athletic trainers
• Website and registration management
• End-of-season banquet

▶ What ages or grades can participate?

The program is open to boys and girls in grades K–6.

▶ What are the football teams and roster limits?

• Peewee (K–2): Max 35 players
• Junior (3rd–4th): Max 45 players
• Senior (5th–6th): Max 45 players

▶ What are the football weight limits?

• Peewee:
• X-Man (lineman only): 86 lbs
• Max weight: 120 lbs
• Junior: Max 155 lbs
• Senior: Max 195 lbs

▶ What are the eligibility requirements for football?

• Enrolled in grades K–6
• Attend a Clovis East feeder school or approved open school
• Sports physical dated within the current year
• Proof of school enrollment
• Proof of health insurance

▶ What are the eligibility requirements for cheer?

• Enrolled in grades K–6
• No school restrictions
• Sports physical dated within the current year
• Proof of school enrollment
• Proof of health insurance

▶ When does the season start?

Practices typically begin the Monday after July 4th. The season runs through November, depending on postseason play.

▶ When and where are football practices?

• Location: Boris Elementary/Clovis East High School (Moves to Clovis East Soccer Fields during daylight saving time)
• Summer: Monday–Thursday, 6:00–8:00 PM
• School Year: Tuesday–Thursday, 6:00–8:00 PM
• Occasional Friday walk-throughs at the coach’s discretion

▶ When and where are cheer practices?

Cheer practices are held at the same times, dates, and locations as football practices.

Cheer teams are formed each season based on registration numbers and coach availability.

▶ When and where are games played?

• Games run August–November
• Home games: Boris Elementary/Clovis East High School
• Away games: Clovis, Fresno, Madera, Sanger, or Dinuba
• Game days: Saturdays

Typical game times:

• Peewee: 9:00 AM
• Junior: 11:00 AM
• Senior: 1:00 PM
• Night games may be scheduled later

▶ What are the requirements to become a coach?

All coaches must:

• Complete an application and background check
• Have experience coaching organized youth sports
• Attend all practices and games
• Football coaches must complete USA Football certifications

▶ Who do the Sharks play?

The Sharks compete in the G.O.D-YFL, a 9-team league across the Central Valley. Teams are below.
